Dark Age of Camelot

Dark Age of Camelot is a medieval fantasy MMORPG that revolves around the war between three realms at the end of King Arthur’s rule: Arthurian-inspired Albion, Norse mythology inspired Midgard and Celtic Hibernia. The game was developed by Mythic Entertainment and released on October 10, 2001.

DAoC offers two styles of gaming for players: Player vs Environment (PvE) and Player vs Player (PvP)—in the case of DAoC PvP is often referred to as Realm vs Realm (RvR) as the majority of player on player combat focuses on groups of players from the same realm (Albion, Midgard, Hibernia) combating players from the other two. While PvE can take place anywhere in the game world, RvR is restricted to level specific Battlegrounds, realm connected dungeons, and the Frontier zone, making RvR entirely voluntary.

Stonecutters and Dark Age of Camelot

The Stonecutters guild was formed shortly after the release of Dark age of Camelot, on the server Morgan Le Fay. While no guild members are currently active on that server, our membership has not been disbanded and we still maintain a guild house. Currently the Stonecutters make their home on the Classic ruleset server Gareth.

Gareth

Gareth is a Classic ruleset server. On this server type there is no acess to the content from Trials of Atlantis, but all other content before and after that expansion is availible and continues to be updated. In addition to the content restrictions, the Classic servers had restictions on concentration based “buff” spells, limiting the maximum range of buffs and requiring that the buffer be group with character being buffed.

Gareth is one of the few remaining unclustered servers in DAOC. It has roughly 3 times the population of any single server, averaging 1500 to 2500 players at any given time, and during peak hours often exceeds the population of many of the clusters. This larger population allows for much more flexible gameplay, allowing players to do more PvE raids or participate in Battleground RvR without impacting the RvR action in the Frontiers.
