Are we headed to the Lower Spire on Thursday?  Just want to know what I should read up on.
SAM: What's new, Normie? NORM: Terrorists, Sam. They've taken over my stomach and they're demanding beer.

We will go there some time in the future (my fingers are crossed).  No harm in reading up now.

Just wanted to note that on the Saurfang encounter I noticed some ranged DPSrs getting caught up to by the dudes pets while they were standing still and shooting at it.  While this can be easier avoided with more DPS, I believe if they get near you, you run away so another ranged can get that aggro (unless he's at like 5%).  I saw this quite often because I was healing from the back and could see the entire encounter.

When ranged dpsers are running away from things they aren't killing those things.  We will want melee to help out after initially getting aggro on ranged or having the tanks watch for ones that aren't dead and are getting closer to the ranged to taunt them back.  While the mob is running the way back, dps can burn it down.  If I kite them, I am doing 0 damage, as would be any other ranged person kiting.  You also need to break the 12 yard bubble to kite.  It's a bad, bad scene.  Ranged goes ape shit + Melee help + emergency taunt = yay.

Yeah, ranged running is the worst of all possibilities. When we get this right, ranged shouldn't ever be tempted to run. What Grend said, basically.

A few melee people have taunt buttons as well that could keep their eyes open.

The important part is taunt, not death grip. You want to make them come back to you, but you don't want them to actually make it there alive.

Feel free to delete the above or add it to the Saurfang thread... forgot about that one :)

Out of curiosity, why do we not do the below?  Tanking in edge of room makes 12 yard rule difficult?

If you have knockback effects, like a Shaman Thunderstorm or Moonkin Typhoon, Blood Beasts can be knocked off the edge of the platform where Saurfang is tanked. This negates the need to take DPS off Saurfang as knocking them off instantly kills them. Tanking Saurfang against the edge of the room makes this easier as whenever the Blood Beasts spawn they can be knocked off immediately.

We don't have a moonkin, just Grend, and it seems like an exploit that will be fixed shortly.

It violates the principle of "bringing the player not the class" -- wouldn't be the first time -- but also, why have adds if they can be knocked off by a single person instead of dealt with by the raid? Seems exploit-ish to me.

The adds are all that stops the fight from being "spread out and nuke".

The adds pop a second time before my cooldown is up, and thunderstorm is not at all easy to aim or get things to maneuver into a particular spot for.  We maintained 12 yards just fine until people had to shift to avoid the mobs, which in essence should not have to happen if we burn them down properly.

If melee just turns and hits them a few times once they are already headed out to the ranged, that would be enough to let ranged burn them before getting add in the face.

Updated w/Crimson Hall encounters. Please familiarize yourself with these, as it looks like our 25-man groups are going to skip the Plagueworks for now, and work on the Crimson Hall.
